Top 10 songs you should have on your iPod from 2008
Despite these artists’ commercial success and the sometimes excessive play count for these songs on the radio, such success only goes to show the true commitment and talent these artists possess. These artist’s talents continue to dominate the music world! From my opinion, the top ten songs you need on your iPod from 2008 are…
1. “Lollipop” by Lil Wayne
“Lollipop” is the first single from Lil Wayne’s sixth album released in March. Lollipop jumped from number 85 to number 9 becoming Lil Wayne’s first top ten hit on Billboard Hot 100. The repetitive lyrics and beat are what catch my attention and have me singing along every time I hear the song. “Lollipop” not only wowed the U.S but also wowed Australia, Germany, and Ireland. Lil Wayne is quickly rising as one of the most popular and most talented artists in the U.S.
2. “Love in this Club” by Usher
This single hit released in February helped Usher climb back into the top of theR&B world. This song reached the number one slot on Billboard Hot 100 in March. What I like most about this song is the Usher’s change from the slow mellow beat to the up-tempo hip hop beat.
3. “Miss Independent” by NeYo
In September, “MiProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
Independent” quickly became the new fall anthem. It was an instant hit jumping from number 98 to number 32 in just one week on the Billboard Hot 100. NeYo has released a couple other singles this year but “Miss Independent” is by far the most popular! Even though I’m a huge Neyo fan and I love his voice, I have to say it isn’t the rhythm or beat of the song I like the best this time; it is the lyrics that I like the best!
4. “Single Ladies” By Beyonce
This is Beyonce’s fifth number one single. “Single Ladies,” released in October, iscurrently the number one song on Billboard Hot 100. “Single Ladies,” released alongside “If I Were a Boy” is a much more up-tempo lively beat. In my opinion this song has one of those beats that instantly makes you start to dance and sing along with the song, and that’s why this is definitely a must have on your iPod!
5. “Whatever You Like” by T.I.
“Whatever You Like,” T.I.’s second single from his sixth album, was released on July 16th.This song quickly became the tune of the summer and followed into the fall. Currently, “Whatever You Like” is listed as number 4 on Billboard Hot 100. I’m a big fan of T.I. in general, but I think he really caught the crowds by surprise with this that again, like a lot of the top ten songs, makes you instantly sing along.
6. “If I were a Boy” by Beyonce
This hit released in mid November currently holds the number 3 spot on the BillboardHot 100 charts. I think the lyrics of this song are fantastic, but the music video that compliments this hit is even better! I know this is definitely a song that Beyonce will be remembered for.
7.”Mad” by NeYo
“Mad” NeYo’s latest hit hasn’t reached the Billboard Hot 100 yet, but don’t be surprised if it creeps up there by next week. This is a typical Neyo song, produced with a great voice and awesome lyrics. I love the rhythm of this song, but it will be hard to surpass “Miss Independent” on the music charts!
8. “Sexy Can I” by Ray J
“Sexy Can I” is the first single from Ray J’s fourth album “All I Feel.” Ray J surprised everyone with this single in January of 2008.This song became one of my favorites, really by the repetitiveness of the lyrics alongside the catchy beat. This song quickly jumped from number 77 to number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was not only a hit in the U.S. but also in Canada and New Zealand.
9. “Live Your Life” by T.I. Featuring Rhianna
“Live Your Life” released September 10th,2008, took the U.S. by storm and premiered at the MTV Music Awards 2008 during T.I.’s performance. I love the T.I. and Rhianna style combo! The catchy lyrics of “Live Your Life” make this song a must on your iPod from 2008.
10. “Forever” by Chris Brown
“Forever” belongs on the top 10 list because it was not only a hit in the States but it was also a top hit across Europe and in Asia. “Forever,” also debuted as number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is my favorite Chris Brown song because in “Forever” his vocal talent really shows making the beat irresistible. This is definitely Chris Brown’s best song to date.
Well there you have it! These are my top ten songs. Did I leave any songs out? Do you agree or disagree?

Your list is fucking lame. Lil Wayne really? Why don’t you go live in the mountains and not bother anyone. Go eat some ass and no more lists.

This list is retarded. Most of these songs have horrible rhythyms, syntesized voices and are just altogether lame. Way to go, loser.

Well you know obviously they arent bad, because they are rich.. and if you were im pretty sure you wouldnt be doing this. Your just a fag and dont appreciate music. so instead of judging everyone else’s music taste look at your own because im sure their are people that dont agree with your taste either.
