2009 Spring Break Hot Spots
Cancun still secures the number one spot, but with economic issues, I have a feeling lots of students will be staying in the States to visit local resorts, and of course, there will be the regular school trips to Europe.
Cancun
Cancun, the number one international spring break getaway, is a 14 mile long island located on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. Each year over 200,000 college students gather to enjoy the warm weather, the wonderful white sand beaches, and the notorious night life while in the company of their peers. Cancun also provides a variety of restaurants that will satisfy any craving. Amongst these restaurants and beaches are a number of bars and night clubs that promote the party all night long attitude. Cancun is easily the number one hot spot because of the party atmosphere it creates.
Bahamas
The Bahamas, which is located just off the coast of Florida, draws a number of college students every spring break because of the beautiful weather, crystal clear waters, and the this is one big party atmosphere. The Bahamas also draw crowds to the various casinos and bars that are scattered throughout the islands. Day time life for students is usually sitting on the beach, while night life is most often partying, whether it’s on the white sand beach, or in one of the bars.
South Beach, Florida
This destination is a little more accessible, than Cancun or the Bahamas. Over the last couple years, South Beach has emerged as one of the top spots for spring break. South Beach has the same white sand beaches and night clubs that can be found in Cancun and the Bahamas, but in South Beach, you are more likely to have a sighting of a celebrity in one of the shops or restaurants. South Beach is a more affordable state side getaway for college students.
Europe
A trip to Europe has many options whether it’s to Paris, Germany, Rome, London, or Amsterdam. This trip takes on a more educational approach, rather than the party till you drop approach in some of the other destinations. Europe is just as beautiful and fun as the other destination though. It’s just that the beauty comes from visiting historic sites not the white sand and warm water beaches. If you’re looking for a trip that you will remember for the rest of your life then Europe is definitely the place to go!
Acapulco
Acapulco, sometimes called the Riviera of Mexico, is known for being one 24 hour party. The overall atmosphere is relaxed, with casual dress and everyone’s laid back attitudes. The calm and cool weather helps to create the welcoming festive atmosphere. The main attraction to Acapulco is the world famous nightlife. The clubs and restaurants really come alive after sunset. Students from all over the world gather in Acapulco to celebrate their spring break.
Well, there you have it the top 5 Spring Break Hot Spots for 2009! Is anyone going to any of these places? Are the top 5 spots really the most popular? What are your plans for Spring Break 2009?
